Conditional sentences

Conditional sentences

Conditional sentences (also known as conditional clauses or if clauses) are made up of two halves. One half (the half with the word it in) is a condition, and the other half (the main clause) states the action to occur if the condition is fulfilled.

There are four types of conditional sentence:
            1.   Conditional Sentence Type 0
Conditional type zero is used to talk about general truths, scientific facts or things which always happen under certain conditions.
Form:
If + Simple Present, + Simple Present

The zero conditional is used to talk about things which are always true, scientific facts, general truths.
Examples:
·        If you heat water to 100 ° C, it boils. / Water boils if you heat it to 100 ° C.
·    If I do not practice the piano everyday I play poorly. / I play the piano poorly if I do not practice everyday. (If you do not practice the piano every day I play bad.)

           2.     Conditional Sentence Type 1
Often called the "real" conditional because it is used for real or possible situations. These situations take place if a certain condition is met. It is possible and also very likely that the condition will be fulfilled.
Form:
If + Simple Present, + Simple Future

Conditional Sentences Type 1 refer to the future. An action in the future will only happen if a certain condition is fulfilled by that time. We don't know for sure whether the condition actually will be fulfilled or not, but the conditions seems rather realistic – so we think it is likely to happen.
Example:
·         If Bill studies, He Will pass the exam. / Bill Will pass the exam if I studies.
·          If It Does not Rain, We Will go to the beach. / We will go to the beach if it Does not rain. (If it rains, go to the beach.)

           3.    Conditional Sentence Type 2
Often called the "unreal" conditional because it is used for unreal impossible or improbable situations. This conditional provides an imaginary result for a given situation. It is very unlikely that the condition will be fulfilled.
Form:
If + Simple Past, + would + base verb

Were / Was
In conditional type 2, we usually use in the if clause "were" instead of "was" even if the pronoun is Iheshe or it. "were" here is a subjunctive form.
NOTE "was" is also a possible form.
Example:
·         If I won the lottery, I Would Travel Around the World. / I Would Travel Around the World if I won the lottery. (If you win the lottery, travel around the world.)
·          If more time HAD Rachel, Would she learn to play the guitar. / Rachel Would learn to play the guitar if She Had more time. (If Rachel had more time, learn to play guitar.)

Conditional Sentences Type 2 refer to an action in the present that could happen if the present situation were different. I don't really expect the situation to change because it is very unlikely.
Example:

     4.   Conditional Sentence Type 3
It is impossible that the condition will be met because it refers to the past.
Form:
If + Past Perfect, + would + have + Past Participle

Conditional Sentences Type 3 refer to situations in the past. They express hypothetical results to past given situations.
Example:
·         If I had Known Then What I know now, I Would Have Done Things Differently. / I Would Have Done Things Differently If I Had Known Then What I Know now. (If I had known in the past what I know now, would have done things differently.)

Share Your Moments

It is one of the pictures is very memorable for me because in this photo my first time to establish the heart to close the genitals. As a Muslim is obliged to close the genitals. From last year, but I want to wear veils, my heart is disbelief. There are still many doubts in my heart before I use hijab. Previously I have the intention to wear the hijab after marriage, then my parents reminded me "why did you wait a long time to do good?" I was thinking. It turns out my parents correct advice I immediately decided to wear the hijab. After I use the hijab many changes in myself one of them is to pray five times I always do, apart from that I got a lot of support from friends and those closest to me. They are happy when the time was moved from the previous one. And my parents were very happy when I decided to hijab. This is my experience, where your experience?

Explanation Of Subject,Verb and Complement

1.     Subject
Subject complement is a noun , pronoun , adjective , or another construction (acting as a noun or adjective ) following verbs of being or linking verb and serves to explain or refer to the subject of the sentence .
Subject complement is divided into three , namely : predicate adjective ( subjects connected with the adjective ) , predicate noun ( subject associated with the noun ) , and predicate pronoun ( subject connected with the pronoun ) .
Example :
·         David plays the piano.
·         My Dog attacked the burglar.
2.     Verb
Verb ( verb ) is a function word to indicate the action of the subject , showing events or circumstances . Verb is one of the eight parts of speech .
English verbs are not always simple shape ( one word ) , but may be the result of a combination of phrases into phrasal verbs with particle ( get in , make-up , read over ) .
Example :
·         We buy some books to learn English verbs.
·         Paul is rides bicycle.
3.     Complement
A complement is the part of a Sentence that comes after the VERB and is needed to make the sentence complete.
Example :
·         They talked about what needed doing
4.     Modifier
Tells the time, place or manner of the action. Very often it’s a prepositional phrase. Prepotional phrase is a group of words that begins with a preposition and ends with a noun.
Note :
A modifier of time usually comes last if more than one modifier is present.
Example :

·         John bought a book at the bookstore.
·         Marry was swimming in the pool yesterday.

So,that’s all the explanation about subject, verb, complement and modifier.
So, I will make a sentence with subject, ver, complement and modifier.
Example :

·         My brother has dimple on right cheek.
·         He found elephant in the zoo.
·         He is my Boyfriend

B. Complaint Letter

A letter of complaint, or complaint letter, is normally written to deal with a problem situation when other attempts (i.e. phone contacts, e-mails, etc.) have failed to rectify the situation. The complaint letter formalizes a problem situation by putting it into writing and is usually the last resort to try to get a situation resolved.

EFFECTIVE COMPLAINT LETTERS SHOULD BE:
  • Concise - can be understood quickly.
  • Authoritative - are well written and professionally presented
  • Factual - enable the reader to see immediately the relevant details, dates, requirements
  • Constructive - with positive statements, suggesting positive actions - encourage action and quicker decisions.
  • Friendly - with a considerate, cooperative and complimentary tone because the reader responds positively to the writer and wants to help

Dear Sir or Madam,

Account No: 12345678

Consumer Rights Act 2015

On 26 October 2015 I entered into a Hire Purchase agreement with you for an all in one printer from Errol's Electrics.

I now have a problem with the goods: The printer turns off after five minutes of use and won't switch on again for half an hour. I went back to the shop and they refused to replace it.

I understand that under the above legislation, it is your responsibility to resolve the matter and would therefore ask that this is done within the next 14 days.

Yours faithfully
